Why do I have to open my investment site in my Chrome browser to open PDF financial reports? I tried both 64 and 32 bit IE 9 which are both. Why can't IE9 display PDFs in the Browser when Google Chrome can under the same circumstances? What is IE9 doing differently that causes it to fail?. Test opening the file If you are able to download the file, then double-click on it in Windows Explorer. If Adobe Acrobat opens, if Acrobat Reader opens, then you've got the file.
